About VVR Bandwidth report
Data replication is an integral part of the Storage Foundation high availability
(SFHA) product suite that ensures the high availability and the disaster recovery
capabilities of the applications in your datacenter. VVR manages the data
replication in theSFHAenvironment. Veritas Operations Manager uses the Add-on
for Veritas Volume Replicator Bandwidth reporting to generate theVVRBandwidth
report that displays the details of replication data transfer.
The VVR Bandwidth report lets you know the details of the data transfer between
the source and the target hosts that occurs through a specific replication link
(rlink). The VVR Bandwidth report displays the size of the data that has been
transferred from the source to the target host. This information helps you calculate
the total cost of data replication between the source and the target hosts.
Also, the VVR Bandwidth report lets you view the details of multiple data
replications that occur through a specific rlink.
See “Viewing the information of a VVR Bandwidth report” on page 8.
See “Viewing the details of a VVR Bandwidth report” on page 9.
See “Generating a VVR Bandwidth report in Veritas Operations Manager”
on page 9.
Viewing the information of a VVR Bandwidth report
The VVR Statistics view lets you do the following:
■ Generate a VVR Bandwidth report for a date range that you have specified.
■ View information on the VVR Bandwidth report that is generated.
In the VVR Statistics view, you can search for a specific VVR Bandwidth report.
In the VVR Bandwidth Report table, you can view the following information of a
specific VVR Bandwidth report that you have selected:
■ Name of one or more related volumes within a given Veritas Volume Manager
disk group that are configured as replicated volume group (RVG) for replication.
■ Veritas Volume Manager disk group to which the volumes that are configured
as RVG belongs.
■ Source host from which the volumes are replicated for a specific application.
■ Target host to which the volumes are replicated.
■ Name of the replication link (rlink) through which the data replication from
the source to the target host occurred.
■ Total data that has been transmitted from the source to the target host through
rlink.
■ Start date of the date range for which you want to generate theVVRBandwidth
report.
■ End date of the date range for which you want to generate the VVR Bandwidth
report.
Also, in the VVR Statistics view, you can select a VVR Bandwidth report for a
specific rlink and view the details of multiple replications that occurred through
that rlink.
